Jobbie Nooner - Jobbie Nooner 2010: Jobbie Nooner party, known for heavy drinking and rewarding women with plastic beads for baring their breasts. Jobbie Nooner 2010 is held today on Gull Island at the north end of Lake St. Clair. Jobbie Nooner is held every year around the automakers’ vacation for model changeover.
Jobbie Nooner was originated by a small group of automotive designers including Lee O’Dell who wanted to take co-worker, Lee Wagner, out for his birthday. They decided to blow out of work at lunchtime one Friday, get together on their boats and have a good time. It started 2 decades ago with four boats and seventeen friends. It has grown into the biggest party of the summer with an estimated 1,000+ boats and nearly 5,000 people attending in recent years. It has been nicknamed the “Mardi Gras of the Midwest.”
