Google changes its name to TopekaIs google really changing its name? Yes! Google has changed its name, for one day at least, to Topeka, It's all part of an April Fools' Day prank by Google. a move intended to honor the city in Kansas that recently changed its name to Google for one month in hopes of being selected as a one of the cities to receive a new, ultrafast fiber-optic network.

Think it's a joke? Even though the name change was announced at 1 AM on 4/1/2010, it looks official enough to us, where the post on the company's official blog was signed by Eric Schmidt, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Topeka Inc
