Ford Ironman Lake Placid 2010

The 12th edition of the annual Ford Ironman Lake Placid triathlon will feature more than 2200 athletes hoping to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles. “Even though we are disappointed that the continuity of the longstanding Ford Ironman Lake Placid course cannot be maintained this year, we are excited to include another community in what is the biggest annual sporting event in the Adirondacks,” stated race director Jeff Edwards.
The bicycle leg turnaround point in Ausable Forks is just south of the Route 9N/College Street intersection. Jay, Keene, and points south will be accessible by way of a signed detour that utilizes Shell Drake Road, North Jay Road, Valley Road, and Trumbulls Corner Road. Wilmington, Saranac Lake, and Lake Placid will be accessible by way of Guideboard Road, Silver Lake Road, and Bonnieview Road. Further traffic and alternate route information is available at http://www.ironmanlakeplacid.com.
